Dalesdown is an attractive, well equipped, versatile and comfortable self-catering centre offering residential accommodation a wide variety of groups for activities including church weekends away, children and youth training or holiday programmes, conference meetings, and many day events for groups both large and small; many local schools conveniently use the mid-week periods.

The popularity of the centre is shown by the number of groups re-booking, often two or three years ahead. The eight acres of grounds that surround the centre have also been developed to offer recreational activities that appeal to all, whether it is of the more robust kind, such as the sports field or adventure trail, or just to enjoy the peaceful and tranquil surroundings in which the centre is set, with wonderful views of the Downs.
